The prince of Wales accepted a payment of a million pounds (US$1.2 million) from the family of Osama bin Laden, according to the “Sunday Times” newspaper.

He added that prince Carlos accepted the money from two brothers of Osama bin Laden in 2013, two years after the leader of Al Qaeda was eliminated. The donation was received by the Fundación Benéfica del Príncipe de Gales (PWCF, acronym in English).

According to Clarence House, the office of the British heir, the PWCF assured them that they had realized an “exhaustive due diligence”, and that the decision to accept the money came from the administrators. “Cualquier intento de characterização de otra manera es falso”, assured a la BBC.
